Literature Text
It's been a long time, eh? How many of you even read these? Or do you just look, say "meh", remove from messages, and move on? I don't mind if it's the latter - I do it often with my own watches. In any case, I don't write ponyfics much anymore. Part of it's that there are so many that it's impossible not to get buried under the mounds of garbage (just look at Fimfiction). Part of it's that I have a full-time job now, and while I have plenty of free time I'm less inclined to spend it typing a whole lot of plot out. And of course, part of it's that while I still like ponies, I'm not as into the fandom as I used to be.
All that said, it occurs to me that I never let any of you in on one other story I submitted some time ago to Fimfiction. It's an Octavia and Trixie duet, sans Romance. A Dark tale, though I wouldn't call it Grimdark.
No, I'm not going through all the formatting trouble of bringing it here. Instead, I'd like to leave a link to the story here: www.fimfiction.net/story/64984…
If you're still watching, thanks for sticking with this guy and peace out!

Luna's Day Out Chapter 3
Lunch went smoothly, and Luna's praise that she'd have to recommend this place to others had left the host with a nervous happiness. She gave a long yawn, and Nova matched it from his nest on Luna's head. Fluttershy had started back towards the shops, but paused for the princess.
"My apologies, again." Luna said, in all sincerity. "I'll be pulling an all-dayer at this rate, with my night ahead of me!"
"We could-"
"No, no, if I go back to the palace before the sun has set I know my sister will find time to ask me what's wrong, why didn't I enjoy myself... she tries so hard, but I wish she wouldn't sound so much like mother used to." Luna en

Worth Suffering For
The night air was brisk to say the least, and Rarity would have much preferred to be inside and out of the harsh chill. It definitely wasn't something she delighted in. Harsher still, though, was the expression on Sweetie Belle's face, and the glare with which she had looked at Rarity after her failed attempt to reconcile. Rarity watched, shocked, as Applebloom and Sweetie Belle walked away, their forms receding from the campfire and fading into the darkness of the woods. She hesitated for a moment and sighed softly, glancing at Applejack. She took a few steps towards her, trying to keep her voice low enough that the fillies wouldn't overhear

Clash of the Heavenly Titans
Canterlot: the crown jewel of Equestria. To most ponies, it stood as a monument to the achievements of generations past, and to others it represented the regal beauty of the monarchs it housed. Yet, only two ponies knew the real reason it existed: it was a new start, away from the bitterness of the past. Of course, none of that mattered in the present day, for most of the old wrongs had long since been righted.
Mornings were always early at the castle, since many of the staff had to be awake before dawn to cater to the pony that raised the very sun itself. However, for the past year and a half, the task be
